Prior to January 1st 2024, the center was operating as the K9 section of the King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center. This provided JK9 with a background in SWAT and Special Ops training and access to advanced training facilities in which the center developed into a niche of Special Ops K9 training as well as operating as a national center for all Jordanian K9 Units as well as providing training courses and training support for numerous Tier 1 K9 teams.
