The current President of International Search and Rescue Dog Organisation has been involved in dog training since his early age. He started as a helper at the training with hunting dogs. Since 1980 he has been a dog handler for German shepherds and a trainer in tracking, obedience, and protection work. After completing the first avalanche search dog course Alois has been leading operational avalanche dogs ever since. In 1999 he founded the 'Austrian Search Dog Squadron' ('SHS) and has been chairman and trainer ever since. He is dog handler for 'mission ready' dogs in areas, rubble, and avalanches.
