Mr. Caunter is a senior police executive seconded from the United Sates Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to INTERPOL since 2021.  As the Assistant Director for Criminal Networks, Mr. Caunter and his team of international law enforcement officers, analysts and experts are responsible for all Serious and Organized Crime programs at INTERPOL and our 196 member countries.  Mr. Caunter has almost 30 years of law enforcement experience beginning with the Baltimore City Police Department followed by the last 26 years with the DEA.  During his tenure with the DEA, Mr. Caunter held a variety operational and supervisory positions across the United States and abroad with foreign postings in Türkiye, Austria and France.

Mr. Caunter received his BA in Psychology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and has completed graduate work at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.  Mr. Caunter is an internationally recognized subject matter expert on drug trafficking, transnational organized crime and international police cooperation.
