Oscar Esteban Remacha
Lieutenant Colonel Oscar Esteban Remacha currently serves as the Director of the Anti-Drug Trafficking Department of the Operational Central Unit (UCO) where he oversees all major judicial investigations related to drug trafficking at the central level in Spain. Previously Lieutenant Colonel Esteban was assigned to carry out duties as Head of the General Director’s Secretariat, a position he held until February 2023. In 2015, Mr. Esteban became part of the Technical Cabinet of the General Directorate. Previous assignments during his career in the Spanish Guardia Civil includes leading the Group of Crimes Against People in the Criminal Intelligence Central Unit (Madrid), and Head of the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police of the Navarra Command. Between 2003 and 2006, then Lieutenant Esteban was assigned to command the Organized Crime and Anti-Drug Team (EDOA) of the Navarra and Pontevedra Commands. Mr. Esteban started his career with Spanish Guardia Civil in 2002 and after studying at the General Military Academy and Guardia Civil Officer Academy, he was promoted as lieutenant and assigned to the Sanxenxo Station (Pontevedra).
Mr. Esteban earned a diploma in General Staff a master’s degree in Defence Policy and International Security, a master’s degree in security and considered a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Human Resources Management. He has taken courses in Traffic Management, Judicial Police, Human Resources Management, Economic and Technical Management. He has knowledge of English, French and Italian. Mr. Esteban is married and have two children.
