Col PK Chug, CMD, Police Dog Centre India is India’s top, internationally acclaimed Veteran Military and Police K9 Trainer with 30 years of Working K9 experience commanding specialized K9 units with Army, NSG and other Special Forces. He is the Former and Founder Head of the Police K9 Cell at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India and instrumental in steering positive transformation and augmentation of Police K9 Performance among the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) of India by not only formulating modern SOPs on K9 best practices and revising most K9 policies but by also conducting tens of ‘Police K9 Workshops’ and starting the trend of annual ‘National Police K9 Seminars’ and publishing ‘National Police K9 Journal’ as its former and founding editor in India.
Known for his innovative and inexpensive techniques of police dog training, he has inspired working K9 community in India cutting across diverse organizations both in Government as well as among the civil society. He has taken the path breaking initiative to launch the pioneering course of DIPLOMA CANINE FORENSICS in association with India’s top National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) at their Delhi Campus to formally integrate K9 training under the university education system in India. Col Chug has been conferred with large number of honours and awards in almost every assignment held by him which includes ‘Chief of Army Staff Commendation’ on three occasions, ‘United Nation’s Force Commander Commendation’ and Citation by the US Department of Defense. He is FELLOW of the National Academy of Veterinary Sciences (NAVS) India and also FELLOW of Indian Association for Advancement of Veterinary Research (IAAVR).
