On the last day of the World Police Summit 2025 which is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, received several high-level delegations from around the world at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Major General Ahmad Zaal bin Kreshan Al Muhairi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Administration and Finance, attended the meetings.
Delegates included Commissioner General Woldayis Gebremichael of the Ethiopian Police, Ashurboy Akhmatkhojaevich, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan, Lieutenant General Eric Snoeck, Commissioner General of the Belgian Federal Police, Major General Aram Hovhannisyan, Chief of Police and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Armenia, and Lazar Šćepanović, Director of the Police Administration of Montenegro.
Cementing Cooperation
During the meetings, discussions centred around opportunities to boost bilateral ties and collaborate on key policing challenges. Lieutenant General Al Marri welcomed the delegations, reaffirming Dubai Police’s commitment to sharing its expertise and cutting-edge practices to support global law enforcement partnerships.
Meanwhile, the visiting officials commended the summit’s role in bringing together law enforcement leaders under one roof to explore forward-looking policing strategies, share solutions, and strengthen international cooperation in addressing complex security threats.
Commemorative Tokens of Friendship
After the bilateral meetings, Lieutenant General Al Marri presented commemorative shields to the visiting dignitaries, expressing his appreciation for their participation and wishing them success in their respective missions.
MoU with Belgian Federal Police
On the summit’s sidelines, Lieutenant General Al Marri and Belgian Police Commissioner General Eric Snoeck signed a Memorandum of Understanding between Dubai Police and the Belgian Federal Police to strengthen cooperation in combating crime.
A Framework for Joint Security Action
The MoU outlines a comprehensive framework for collaboration in combating terrorism, organised crime, and other security threats. It also includes the exchange of intelligence and expertise, joint training initiatives, research partnerships, and technical and operational support.
Recognising Excellence in Security Cooperation
In a gesture of appreciation for joint efforts in fighting organised crime, Lieutenant General Al Marri awarded the Security Cooperation Medal to Commissioner General Woldayis Gebremichael of the Ethiopian Police.
Lieutenant General Al Marri praised the effective collaboration with Ethiopia and other partner countries in tracking and apprehending wanted individuals.
“The recognition reflects the strength of our international cooperation in confronting cross-border crime and promoting peace and security,” he said. “The World Police Summit is a vital platform for discussing shared priorities, from drug trafficking and organised crime to future policing tools, as we work together to build safer communities worldwide.”
Major General Ahmad Zaal bin Kreshan Al Muhairi, Major General Harib Al Shamsi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Affairs, and senior officers from Dubai Police and the Ethiopian Police attended the ceremony.
