Dubai, UAE – 13 May 2025 – The fourth edition of the World Police Summit officially opened today at Dubai World Trade Centre under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Bringing together 110 police chiefs, over 300 global speakers, and delegations from more than 110 countries, the summit reaffirms Dubai’s central role in advancing international law enforcement collaboration. An estimated 19,500 visitors are expected over the coming days.
Themed “Beyond the Badge: Envision the Next Era of Policing,” this year’s summit focuses on AI-driven policing, transnational crime, and the integration of public and private sector security strategies. The agenda spans 12 critical policing tracks across four dedicated forums, addressing everything from cybercrime and border security to anti-narcotics, traffic safety, and human trafficking.
The day opened with the Global Plenary, where law enforcement leaders from INTERPOL, the UN, NYPD, and other key agencies exchanged insights on the future of policing in a world of complex threats.
“The conversations at this summit will naturally extend to the expanding fields of borderless policing, traffic security, anti-money laundering and strategic integration of artificial intelligence in policing, reinforcing the idea that public safety today can no longer be approached in isolation, but rather through sustained collaboration, shared responsibility and a collective commitment to shaping the future of policing through knowledge, technology and trust”, said Lt. Col. Dr. Rashid Hamdan AlGhafri, Deputy Director of the General Department of Forensic Evidence and Criminology for Administrative Affairs at Dubai Police and Secretary-General of the World Police Summit.
He continued, “Progress begins with a conversation, and that real transformation happens when we listen, learn and act together. Thank you for being part of this world-leading gathering. I wish you all a powerful, collaborative and forward-looking Word Police Summit 2025.”
The panel discussion titled “Re-Skilling and Upskilling for a New Era of Threats” brought together a line up of international law enforcement experts including Eric Snoeck, First Chief Superintendent, Belgium; Roberto Rios, Assistant Chief, NYPD; Kayode Egbetokun, Inspector General of Police, Nigeria; and Tareq Al Hasan, Chief of Public Security, Bahrain, to address the evolving demands of global security. Panelists emphasized the urgency of cross-border cooperation, calling for stronger legal frameworks and trust among international agencies. They highlighted the need for future policing leaders to drive innovation and adapt to emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, underscoring the importance of continuous training to equip officers for modern threats.
Organised by Dubai Police in partnership with DXB LIVE, and supported by international agencies such as IACP, UNODC, Europol, and the FBI, the summit also features an expansive exhibition hosting 170+ exhibitors, including Samsung, du, ESRI, and INKAS Armored Vehicles, showcasing innovations shaping the future of public safety.
